Wetin to check before you buy
- Battery warranty: 8 years / 160,000km na the new standard for tier-1 brand. Used EV wey battery warranty don expire na big risk.
- Charging connector: Most Lagos public network dey use CCS2 or GB/T. Some private import (Tesla) get unique connector wey need adapter.
- Service network: Stallion (BYD, Innoson) and Coscharis (MG) get the best EV service for Lagos. For other brand, confirm service location before purchase.
- Battery health (used): For used EV, demand State of Health (SoH) report. Below 85% na bargaining point; below 75% na avoid.
- Import costs: EV dey attract same import duty as petrol car for Nigeria (35% duty + 35% levy for used). Customs sometimes dey misclassify EV.
