Solar Companies in Lagos — How to Choose One

6 established installers · not ranked, not rated · what to check before you pay

Installation quality is the single biggest variable in a Lagos solar system, and it is invisible at the point of sale. The same panels and the same inverter, wired well or wired badly, are a fifteen-year asset or a three-year headache. This page lists established installers operating in Lagos and, more usefully, sets out how to tell a good one from a cheap one.

This list is not ranked and carries no ratings. There is no verified customer-outcome data to rank on, and invented stars would mislead you more than no stars at all. It is a shortlist of who to call — the checklist below is what actually helps you choose.

WHAT TO CHECK

What separates a good installer from a cheap quote

The cheapest quote almost always saves money in the places you cannot see: undersized cable, no proper earthing, no surge protection, cheap breakers, and an array mounted in a way that will lift in a storm. None of that shows up on the day of commissioning. It shows up in year two, when a component fails and the warranty conversation reveals that the installer is no longer trading.

Ask for a wiring diagram and the specification of the balance of system — cable sizes, breaker ratings, earthing arrangement, mounting method — not just the panel, inverter and battery. An installer who supplies that as a matter of course is telling you something about how they work. One who treats the request as unusual is telling you something too.

Warranty is only as good as the company behind it

A twenty-five year panel warranty and a ten-year inverter warranty are standard on paper. In practice a warranty is a promise from a specific company to still exist and still process claims years from now, and Lagos solar has seen plenty of installers who did not. Company age, a physical address you can visit, and installations you can go and look at are worth more than the length of the warranty printed on the quote.

Separate the equipment warranty from the workmanship warranty as well. The manufacturer covers the panel; the installer covers the installation. Ask explicitly how long the workmanship is covered and what it includes, because that is the warranty most likely to be needed and the one most often left vague.

As a benchmark: labour and balance of system typically run 10–20% on top of component cost in Lagos (Triangulated Lagos installer quotes, verified 2026-07-13). A quote far below that band is usually cutting the cabling and protection, not being efficient.

FAQS

Installer FAQ

There is no single best — there are established companies with track records and there are cheap quotes with none. The installers listed on this page are well-known operators in the Nigerian market. This site does not rank or rate them, because we have no verified customer-outcome data to rank them on, and a fabricated rating would be worse than no rating at all.
