About Victoria Island
Victoria Island is Lagos's CBD — the financial, diplomatic, and corporate capital of West Africa. Almost every major bank, oil company, and multinational has its head office on VI. This makes it the most logical place to live if you work in finance, consulting, or oil & gas — your commute could be a 5-minute walk. Rents of ₦10M–₦20M reflect this premium. The area has the highest concentration of international restaurants, hotels, and nightlife. The downside: VI is essentially a commercial district that people also live in, not a residential neighborhood with commercial additions. It's loud, traffic-heavy during business hours, and the residential options (mostly apartments, few houses) feel urban rather than suburban.
