About this school — Lekki British School
LBS is the Island's pragmatic British school. It does not chase international rankings or maintain the boarding apparatus of BIS, but it does turn out A-Level cohorts that consistently place into Russell Group universities at a fee level a tier below the elite. The school has grown steadily for two decades on a single Lekki Phase 1 campus, and its waiting lists at Reception and Year 7 are now nearly as long as BIS's — testament to a market gap it fills well.
Lekki British School was founded 2006 as one of the Lekki alternatives to BIS on the Island — targeting families who wanted British curriculum access without the VI fee tier and Third Mainland Bridge commute. Nineteen years on, LBS has grown into one of the established Lekki British-curriculum options serving a specific catchment: professional Nigerian families in Lekki Phase 1 who want British schooling within driving distance of home. The 4-acre campus is compact but well-equipped. WAEC parallel certification is NOT offered — LBS is British-curriculum only through IGCSE and A-Level. What LBS provides that Chrisland Lekki does not is deeper A-Level Sixth Form preparation with Russell Group placements. Year 1 and above require written assessments in English and Mathematics, plus a teacher reference from the current school. Year 12 entry needs predicted IGCSE results of 5 (C) or better in eight subjects. Application fee is ₦50,000 non-refundable. Sibling priority applies.
